You did an excellent work here! I was looking for sculptures of Eric Northman, but is really hard to find. I think your version looks a little like the Ken doll of the Barbie when I see the front view, maybe it needs more expression lines in his eyes. I like the side view where he is looking at the right side.

However, I really like your work!! Congrats.

some how it looks like he's posing. the one on the far left seems to signify seriousness., one in the middle hopeful. far right bottom., upset. really again talanted.

OMG! This is beyond brilliand :faint:
I wish someone bought this model from you and manufactured a whole line of busts of Eric
In the meantime I'll have to do with this shitty official bust, that don't resemble the actor at all :( [link] and they're € 70.00 each, ouch *_*

Thank you. I'm glad you like it. :)

I agree with you completely about the official sculpture. It's pretty bad. And they really should be ashamed of themselves for charging that sort of money for something like that.

Wow, well first I'd just like to say what an amazing job you've done here. The detail is incredible! I have looked at all of your sculptures and they really intrigue me. I was inspired by them, and I think I would like to try doing something like this for my next art assignment. I was wondering if you could give me a few pointers on how you go about making your sculptures? What modelling clay do you use exactly? Is there a particular brand, I've never used it before so I don't know. ^^ Also, what do you mean by make-up? Is it special paint or something? Sorry if I'm bothering you, if you don't have time to answer then I understand. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the compliment. :)

Firstly, if you're interested in sculpting then you can take a look at my tutorial [link] . I feel it's not yet complete but I hope you will find it useful anyway. :)

Also I have to warn you that the clay I use remains soft and quite delicate. It's not really special, I think - I bought it in a stationery shop. The skin colored clay is some "Jovi Plastilina" manufactured in Spain. The eyes, hair and so one are made of clay manufactured by Czech company "Koh-I-Noor Hardtmuth" but I'm not sure if this will help you since I bought both here in the Czech Republic while you live in Australia.

The mentioned make-up is actual make-up (powder and rouge) that normal people put on their faces :D . I use it on my sculptures. The surface is porous and somewhat oily so the make-up holds well on the "skin" and gives it more natural look.

Good luck with your assignment and if you have any more questions feel free to ask. I'm glad to be of service. :)

No problem!

Thank you for the advice! I found your tutorials shortly after I sent that message I have to admit, and they are incredibly helpful. I was surprised that you meant actual make-up too. :) I think I might end up using white clay and firing it with a matte glaze so it doesn't turn shiny. Which means I'll have to paint it. I don't know if I can get the kind of clay you use over here. But I'll Google the brands you mentioned anyway. Thank you again, if I have any problems I'll be sure to check back on your tutorials.

Hi! It's been ages yes but I thought I'd just let you know that I've finished my sculpture and the tips I picked up from your tutorial were great! Though I ended up using clay, some of the skills and techniques were transferable. Thanks again! Going to upload pictures soon, though the final look is a bit dodge because it kind of exploded in the kiln and need to be majorly repaired...

Hi! It's great to hear back from you that you followed through with your plan. I hope you enjoyed making it (apart from the kiln mishap) and I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures. :)

Oh yeah, it was great fun to make. A little weird with the ears though - making the holes was like sticking my fingers down someone's ears - ewwww.
